About a hundred years ago, the first Pioneers arrived in the geographical area of The Jordan Valley .Although the living conditions were unbearable, the settlers were captivated by the the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River. They established settlements and turned the desert into a flourishing, blossoming garden.
Here near the banks of the Jordan, they established and developed work settlements and led the Pioneer movement to great achievements, amongst them the establishment of the State of Israel.
Even today both the Jordan River and the Sea of Galilee give the area , which is basically dry with a very harsh climate, its vitality and livelihood.Lots of activity takes place where Jesus of Nazareth preached his gospel and performed his miracles. This area is also the home of Yardenit the official baptismal site on the Jordan River, blessed by the State of Israel and the Ministry of Tourism Hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world visit here each year. The Yardenit site is kept pristine and Pilgrims have an unforgettable experience here. Yardenit continues to grow and expand and hopes to attract a million people each year. The site is international and is a bridge of solidarity, affection and peace between all nations.
